Neta Fay Holland's Obituary
Services for Neta Fay Holland, 87, of Longview will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Wednesday, January 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Scott Shulik officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Holland Passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Longview.
Pallbearers will be as follows Chet Wilson, Jerrell Yates, Allen Rutherford, James Black, Bill Grooce, Jimmy Ballenger and honorary pallbearer Marshall Gregory.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald J. Holland, of Longview, and her parents, Nettie Lora Lummus Heldt and Lee Arden Heldt of Atlanta, Texas.
She is survived by her special cousin, Tommy Lummus, her sister-in-law, Barbara Gennings, and her cousins, Johnny and Rebecca Sirmans. She also leaves a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Neta was born March 27, 1929, at home in Atlanta, Texas. She graduated from Atlanta High School in Atlanta, Texas, where she met her husband, Don. They were married October 10, 1947. Leaving Atlanta with all their possessions in two cardboard boxes in the back of a pickup truck, Neta and Don moved to Alice, Texas. They later moved to Portland, Texas, and later on to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they lived until moving to Longview in 1979. Neta spent most of her working life with Sun Oil Company. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking, and visiting with family and friends. She and Don were members of Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview. In her last years, she had a group of caregivers who loved and took excellent care of her. She will be missed by all her family, friends, and caregivers.
