My belated condolences to the family on Nelda Jean's passing. We were 3rd cousins once removed via the Milliken clan. My mother was a direct Milliken descendant as well. She and my Dad were living in Burnet County when they passed.

I remember one summer as a young teenager, going to Dallas to visit Byron and Nelda Jean. Byron was doing some construction work at the house, and I think I was supposed to be 'helping', but I was too young to be of much help. My memory of that time was of how Nelda Jean disciplined her kids. She would always sit them down and explain very gently and kindly what they had done wrong. That made such an impression on me. Donna and I send our love and prayers for God's peace and comfort. Wish we could be with you.
Nelda Jean was a loving and gentle soul. She will be missed.
We first met Nelda when she came to live at The Cottages at Chandler Creek. Our dad was already a resident. She was a sweet, endearing woman. You could easily tell her cognizant life was full of kindness. Every time we were there, we all looked after her well-being. Our father passed away two years ago, and just recently we were talking about the residents during that time. We are happy to know she is safely and peacefully in heaven.
