Nelda Holder's Obituary
Nelda Holder, 75, of Hallsville, passed away on September 16, 2024. Nelda was born March 7, 1949 in Rugby, TX to Thomas and Pat Westbrook. She lived with her family in Red River County, Texas until moving to Longview around 1970. She remained in Longview until moving with her family to Hallsville, TX in 1983. Nelda was a dedicated homemaker until attending Panola College in 1990 to receive her LVN degree. She dedicated her nursing career to helping those in need. Her passion was caring for her patients in skilled nursing and disabled adult care facilities. Above all Nelda deeply loved and was loved by God, her family and all her precious friends throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Pat Westbrook of Bogata, TX and her husband of 36 years, Tim Holder of Hallsville, TX. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Holder Dunin and husband Nick of Hallsville, TX, son Wayne Barton and wife Jeannie of Ore City, TX, son Joe Barton and wife Janette of Riverton, Utah, 6 grandchildren Evan and Ella Dunin, Jacy Barton, Josie, Thomas Joe and Tyler Barton and brother Buddy Westbrook of Pittsburg, TX.
Special message from Nelda left to her children:
“To my kids – I love you all so very much. Don’t be sad I’m gone, I have had a good life, a wonderful mama and daddy, then you three kids, then my six grandkids. I am looking forward to seeing God and all the loved ones that are gone. I know I will see all of you again. Please ask God to be with you in your life.”
Services to honor her life will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am with a service to follow at 11am.
Nelda’s final resting place is to be beside her mother and father at the Bogata Cemetery in Bogata, TX. A private family graveside service is to be held at a later date.
