Nelda Dowdle's Obituary
Nelda Mynonne Nations Dowdle, 88, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Funeral service will be held at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Pierce officiating Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00. A private family interment will follow the service.
She was born June 14, 1935 the youngest of four girls to Marlin Jasper Nations and Clara Estell Presley Nations in Van Zandt County, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Andy Lee Dowdle, son, Rickey Lee Dowdle, parents, and sisters.
Nell, or Momma Nell to her grandkids, and her day care kids, enjoyed many activities. She was happiest with her family and friends, visiting, singing and playing games. She always loved being with people and everyone was always welcome in her home. She loved her church family at Greggton First Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving family members include:
Her daughters, Janie Dowdle Phillips (James), Linda Dowdle Nichols (Robert) and Mary Dowdle Grush (Anthony). Grandkids, Cristi Phillips (Christian), Britni Banda (Blake), Nathan Nichols (Ashley) Mallory Nichols, Nolan and Braden Grush and six great grandkids. Each will cherish their memories with her forever.
