Neal Fomby's Obituary
Services for Neal Fomby, 88, of Longview will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Longview with Brother Roger Gage officiating. Clinton Hagler will deliver the eulogy. Neil attended Clarksville City Baptist Church and went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2009. Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery in Upshur County.
He loved gardening, cooking, fishing, hunting and family gatherings. He had a great sense of humor and worked hard all his life to provide for those he loved. Neal retired from Texas Eastman after 32 years.
Neal was born on February 17, 1921 in Morris County. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Hagler Fomby; his children, Gloria and Richard Whitehead of Dallas, Carroll and Cindy Fomby of White Oak, and Steven Fomby of Longview; his grandchildren Alison Burnett of Hurst, Cara and Ryan Freeman of White Oak and Caitlin Fomby of White Oak; and Great grandchildren Shelby and Cody Burnett. In addition, Neal left behind two sisters, Juanita Davis and Maude Niblett of Mt. Pleasant, numerous niece and nephews as well as special friends Jolinda and Anthony Hoffmann. Neal had declared Tyrai Hutson an honorary granddaughter, as she brought so much love and laughter to him.
He was preceded in death by his son Joe Neal Fomby, brothers Archie, Grady, Carl, Earl and Jack, as well as sister's Edna Kate White, Mary Elizabeth Hargrove and Onice Coffer.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hoffmann, Wayne Hagler, Clinton Hagler, Jr., Blaine Hagler, John Hagler and Ken Stewart.
