Nathan L. Cook's Obituary
Our hearts are broken at the passing of our beloved Nathan L. Cook. His time on this earth was too short and he will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Cook, his children, Kelli Cook Anderson, and Keith Cook and wife Trellis. His granddaughters, Kezli Cook, Katelyn Cook, Lacey Anderson, Kylie Cook and Dixie Anderson will cherish the memory of their PopPoo. His sisters, Bobbie Burcham and Lynda Gilbert and husband, Steve, will continue to share stories of their quiet, but mischievous brother (nicknamed “Skeezix” ) with his many nieces and nephews.
It was his honor being Uncle Nathan to Jamie Burcham and wife Jana and children Shane Burcham and Jennifer Ludlum. Also, to Vickie Leigh Burcham; Matthew Grizzle and wife Christina and children, Kaleb and Corbin; Lindsay Grizzle, as well as Kevin Calvery and family, and Kasey Calvery and family. He also loved spending time with his cousin Steve Carter and his daughter.
Nathan spent much of his working life building his durable medical equipment business in Bryan, Texas, garnering him the CB handle of “the bed pan man”.
Nathan was also passionate about fishing, hunting, golf...anything outdoors. During his lifetime he was a member of Corsicana Jaycees, Bryan Bass Club, Coastal Conservation Association, Ducks Unlimited, Briarcrest Country Club. Knowing of his East Texas roots, his golfing buddies just called him “Pine Cone”.
His Class Reunions with the Class of 1960 Longview Lobos were the highlight of his summers. Watching his Texas A&M Aggies filled his Saturdays in the fall.
Nathan was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Jasper L. Cook and Sarah Cook.
Graveside services will be 10am, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview.
