Nash Kent “Tuffy” Odom
Tuffy went to be with his Heavenly Father July 14, 2017, at the age of 71 years. He was born in Longview on April 24, 1946, to Nash Kyle Odom and Ruby Dell Foirriestier Odom. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1964 and married Charlene Collins July 2, 1965.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beverly Joyce “Babs” Odom.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years Charlene Odom of Tatum; daughter Chandra Wheeler and husband Craig of Tatum; grandchildren, Cody Morris of Big Sandy, Chandler and Chyann Wheeler both of Tatum; 2 great grandchildren, Corbyn and Lilli; brothers, Lonnie Odom “Jinkers” of White Oak, Glenn Odom “Bop” and his wife Rita of Harleton; sisters, Patsy McClelland of Tatum and Shirley Gibson of White Oak; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends for 52 years that have been there through thick and thin, Buddy and Ronnie Sullivan.
Nash retired from TXU in 2009 after 33 years, where he made many long lasting friends. He has lived in the Tatum area for over 40 years. Tuffy loved his family, guns, bull dogs, and fishing, but most of all, his Lord. Nash was a member of The Church of Living Waters in Tatum for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Pastor Gary Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the Old East Mountain Cemetery at East Mountain.
