Naomi Livingston
After a courageous and inspirational battle with cancer, Naomi Livingston passed away peacefully May 15, 2004.
Mrs. Livingston was born in Coolidge, Texas on January 1, 1920 to O.V. and Nancy America Pringle. Mrs. Livingston loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She was an avid bridge player, a tremendous cook, and a sports enthusiast. But, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Livingston was a member of Longview Church of Christ. In addition to being a superlative homemaker, Mrs. Livingston worked for a number of years in the accounting department of Fedway Department Store in Longview. After her retirement from the business world in 1967, she continued an active life focused on serving others. As an original member of the volunteer group ?Senior Friends?. Mrs. Livingston spent many hours assisting with the care of patients at Longview Regional Hospital. Her work as a volunteer epitomized her unselfish approach to life, her devotion to duty, her sweet disposition, and her caring nature.
Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her parents, by her beloved husband, Edmund Livingston, and by her brother, Weldon Pringle. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and LeeAnn Pringle , her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and David Self , her son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Gerri Livingston, her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Karen Livingston, and her daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Dean Eloe. Mrs. Livingston also leaves behind nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren,plus one on the way, several nieces and nephews, and many other special friends that loved and will miss her deeply.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Larry Frase, Longview Cancer Center, Greater Hospice of Texas, and Lois Molsher.
Visitation was Monday evening at Rader Funeral Home, and graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday May 18, 2004, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Robert Johnson officiating. For those wishing to make lasting gifts in Mrs. Livingston?s Memory, the family suggests donations may be made to Greater Hospice of Texas or any organization dedicated to the mission of finding a cure for cancer.
