Services for Nannie Pearl Smelley Crain, 91, of Longview will be 12 Noon Monday, December 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. Tim Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Crain-Smelley Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Nannie Pearl passed away Friday morning in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 23, from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
Nannie Pearl was born on December 20, 1016 in Harrison County, Texas to W.H., SR and Tennie Smelley. She worked at First Baptist Church of Pineville, Louisiana as the Pastor?s Secretary for more than 20 years before moving back to Longview. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Longview.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, T.R. Crain; her parents; and her siblings, A.J. Smelley, SR, W.H. Smelley, JR, John Howard, Annie Lou Bustin, and Carrie Young.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 2 sisters, Dorothy Farris and Ruby Lea Ray; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
