Nancy Jane (Shackelford) Morgan's Obituary
Nancy Jane Morgan, age 93, passed away on February 12, 2024, in Longview, Texas. She was born on September 29, 1930, in Austin, Texas. Nancy was a loving, strong, artistic individual and was always full of mischief. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her son, Ken Martin, and daughter-in-law, Darla Martin, both of Longview, TX. She is also survived by her son, William Burk Morgan, of Yakima, WA, step-daughters, Candace Bowen and Victoria Sellers both of La Crescenta, CA, along with her grandsons, Michael Martin of Tyler, TX, Cole Morgan and Lucas Morgan, both of Seattle, WA, her great-granddaughter, Emery Martin of Nacogdoches, TX and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Burk Oran and Dorothy Mae Shackelford, her spouse, William B. Morgan, her brothers, James Burk Shackelford and Dan T. Shackelford, her son, Randy B. Morgan and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Morgan.
Nancy attended Longview High School, graduating with the Class of 1947. She then went on to study at Kilgore College, where she performed as a Rangerette in the 8th Line.
Throughout her career, Nancy worked at various retail establishments, including Neiman Marcus, Kuhlman's for Kids, Carriage Crowd, and Lollipops & Lace.
Nancy worshipped at Summerfield United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous committees.
In her free time, Nancy enjoyed oil painting, photography, sewing, reading, and solving jigsaw puzzles.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, located at 5000 West Harrison Rd., Longview, Texas 75604.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center.
