Nancy Keller's Obituary
Nancy Keller, age 88, died May 14, 2019, after a brief illness. Nancy was born on August 7, 1930, in New Brighton, PA, to Frank and Helen Smith. She was the youngest of 3 girls. Shortly after graduating high school, she began working for the telephone company until getting married and moving to Houston, TX. She enjoyed being a homemaker, a mother to 2 daughters, an active church member, helping in the day to day operations of her husbands’ company until his retirement and traveling. Later in life, she moved to Longview, TX, where she joined Greggton United Methodist Church, worked and volunteered for many years at School for Little Children, was a member of Pioneers and recently became a resident of Arabella of Longview, where she enjoyed meeting new people and sitting on her balcony with Bella, her beloved cat. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a kind and patient woman, a good friend, a talented baker and in her younger years enjoyed bowling, playing miniature golf and arcade games with her grandson, who lovingly called her Nanny. She will be deeply missed by many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Keller, her parents, Frank and Helen Smith and two sisters, Helen Thompson and Audrey Haynes. She leaves daughters Sandra Kurtin and son in law Joe of Comanche, TX, Karen Collins and son in law Gavin of Hallsville, TX, and grandson Steven Collins of Nacogdoches, TX. Along with many nieces and nephews, other family members and close friends. Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX, Monday, May 20th from 5-7 pm. Graveside services will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 22nd at 10 am. An online memorial book may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
