Nancy Lou Bishop's Obituary
Nancy Bishop, 87 of Longview, TX, entered eternal rest on June 6, 2025, in Longview, Texas. She was born on March 2, 1938, to Donald and Marion Chapman in Lockport, New York. Nancy married the love of her life Gene Bishop on June 22, 1957, after meeting at the Palace Theatre in Lockport where they both worked. Nancy also worked for many years at Norton Laboratories in Lockport. Nancy always enjoyed reading and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and attending Bingo games at various locations in New York. She especially enjoyed watching her Buffalo Bills, often asking the question when are they going to win a Superbowl? She also enjoyed watching Texas Rangers Baseball. During her early retirement years, she enjoyed traveling and camping across the country with her husband Gene.
She is survived by sister Donna Fleming of Lockport, NY; sister Marcia Deeble of East Amherst, NY; son and daughter-in-law Jeff & Lorraine Bishop of Tonawanda, NY; daughter Terri Eaton of Mt. Juliet, TN; son and daughter-in-law Mike & Amelia Bishop of Longview, TX; and daughter and son-in-law Beth and Gary DeLuca of West Seneca, NY. Nancy is also survived by eight grandchildren; Dr. Molly Eaton; Stacey Philbrick; Scott Eaton; Jeremy Bishop; Matthew Weir; Patrick Weir; Jacob Bishop; & Mary Wood. Nancy is also survived by six great grandchildren Bailee Noonan; Shelby Eaton; Laynie, & Mylie Philbrick; Ace & Sunny Bishop; along with several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Gene Bishop; parents Donald & Marion Chapman; brother-in-law Ray Deeble; brother-in-law Alexander “Red” Fleming; son-in-law Norm Eaton and grandson Brian Bishop.
A memorial service will be held in Wrights Corners, NY at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Alison Walgama, the staff at Longview Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation, and Hearts Way Hospice (Heather & Josh) for the love and care you provided. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to donate to your favorite organization or hospice organization.
