Nancy Berry Beard's Obituary
NANCY BERRY BEARD
LONGVIEW - Services for Nancy Berry Beard, 88, of Longview, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 9:00 a.m. at Macedonia. Mrs. Beard died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Regional Hospital.
Nancy was born Friday, Jan 23, 1925, in Stevens County, Oklahoma to Alanzo Lewis Mason and Maggie May Mullins Mason. She was the youngest of 14 children.
On August 3, 1942, Nancy and William Bill Eugene Berry were married in Texas City, Texas; they had 2 daughters and were married 30 years.
Together they owned "Berry's Picture Frame Shop" in Longview until Bills death in 1972. The business was sold to others but stayed in the same name for 40 more years.
On June 21, 1975, Nancy married Ray Beard and together they raised his son and daughter. They were longtime members of Macedonia Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a part of the "Ruth" Sunday School Class. Nancy was a full time homemaker, loved writing poems and reading her Bible.
She is survived by her husband Ray Beard, his son Tracy Beard & wife Traci of Longview, her daughters LeAnn Bemis & husband Doug of Longview and Tavie Spivey & husband Tom of Gilmer, grandsons Chris Berry of Sonora, Tx., Jeff Berry of Little Elm, Tx., Alex Beard of Longview, Tx., and granddaughters Tavie Rae Coker of Dallas and Audrey Beard of Lubbock, TX. Nancy has 6 great-grandsons: Conner, Dalton, Jansen, Carston, Karter, Mason and 3 great-granddaughters, Jessica, Kai and Keeley. She is also survived by her brother George Mason and her sister Gearldine Williams.
She was preceded in death by daughter Anita Beard, brothers Alonza, Louis, Alvie, Harry, Leon, and Junior Mason, Sisters: Vera, Pauline, Thelma, Irene, and Helen.
