A graveside memorial service celebrating the life of Nancy Adams, with her brother James B. (Jim) Tucker, Jr. officiating, will be held under the direction of Rader Funeral Home at the Mausoleum Chapel in Rosewood Park at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Nancy Charlotte Tucker Adams passed away in her home in Dripping Springs, Texas on Friday, December 6, 2013 after a 40 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Although MS ravaged her body Nancy had an infectious personality. Never one to complain, Nancy always maintained a positive outlook, was happy to listen to others in need and inspired everyone around her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Steve Adams, her father James B. (Jimmy) Tucker, Sr., mother Eva Russell Tucker and sister Melanie Tucker McNiel.
Nancy was born on December 24, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Lone Star and Longview. Growing up she was a cheerleader and football sweetheart and outstanding student at Daingerfield High School. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she was a member of Chi Omega and met the love of her life, Steve Adams. She was employed at Texas Eastman for many years.
She was a devoted wife to her husband Steve for 44 years, loving mother to her daughter Monica and proud grandmother to her three grandsons Robbie, Reid, and Rhett. She loved going to watch her grandsons in all sporting events, school plays, trick or treating at Halloween or just romping in the back yard. They were the joy of her life and the only thing she enjoyed more than eating Mexican food, shopping and getting her nails done.
Nancy was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Monica Adams Robinson and husband Trey of Dripping Springs, sister Peggy Tucker Gatlin of Longview, and brother Jim Tucker of San Marcos, sister the late Melanie Tucker McNiel and husband Bruce of Diana, sister-in-law Teresa Paul Tebow of Longview, grandchildren Robbie Robinson, Reid Robinson, and Rhett Robinson of Dripping Springs, nieces Celeste Tebow of Longview, Alyssa Ann Plumb and husband Bart of Katy, Caroline McNiel of Kilgore, nephews Larry Adams and wife Connie of Kilgore, Brian McNiel and wife Carrie of Pompano Beach, Florida, and one grandnephew Justin Adams of Kilgore and two grandnieces Brooke and Megan McNiel of Pompano Beach, Florida.
