Myrl Rushton's Obituary
Graveside services for Mrs. Myrl Rushton, 93, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 in the Mausoleum at Rusk County Memorial Gardens with Brother Calvin Hancock and Brother Matt Gholson officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Rushton passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late K. White and Ivy Spence of the Good Springs Community. Myrl was born February 17, 1915 in Rusk County and attended Henderson ISD. She was an upholsterer by trade and was the first lady school bus driver for Henderson ISD. She drove for 23 years.
She was married to Joe Cliff Rushton who preceded her in death in 2003. Myrl was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for 75 years.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law Kay Dorsey Woodward and Jerry of Henderson; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sandy Rushton of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Debra Dorsey, Marlin and Tammie Dorsey, Keith and Deborah Dorsey, Rusty and Marian Rushton, Kent Rushton and Kyle Rushton; great-grandchildren, Judson and Sonia Dorsey, Marlana Dorsey, Holly Dorsey, Jacob Rushton, Mitchell Dorsey, and Tyler Dorsey; step-grandchildren, Brittany Cline and Lauren Cline; great-great grandchild Taylor Goss.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Farrell Dorsey, Max Dorsey, Terry Dorsey, Billy Don Jimmerson, Danny Dorsey, and Richard Kidd.
