Myra Nell Salter's Obituary
Myra "Nell" Salter, 90, passed away on March 25, 2023. Nell was born to Loyd and Johnnie P. Ferguson on August 8, 1932. She married Kenneth Allen Salter, Sr. in 1951. Nell was a homemaker until the early 70's, at which time she went to work for the Longview school system (Judson) and worked for 20 years before retirement. She was a loving friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. She had pictures covering her walls with all of her family members and would remind you if she did not have your picture. Nell was known for inviting people to her home and preparing delicious meals, including homemade pies and sweet tea. She loved watching birds out her window and working all kinds of puzzles.
Nell is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Allen Salter, Sr., parents, and siblings. Nell is survived by sons Kenneth Allen Salter, Jr. (Sue), George Salter (Susan), Robert Salter (Rhonda), and daughter, Kathy Rosborough. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Nell was a lifelong member of the church of Christ. Her visitation will be Friday, March 31st from 6 to 8 at Rader funeral home in Longview, Texas. Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 1st at 2 pm at Old East Mountain Cemetery, with Joseph Chase officiating.
