Myra Jo Marion Folmar's Obituary
On this glorious day, February 13, 2016, Jesus stretched His hand to gently escort Myra Jo Marion Folmar through the gates of heaven. There to meet her with loving hugs and kisses was her husband of nearly 55 years, James Milton Folmar. Also there to greet her were her parents, Walter Pate Marion and Mattie Catherine (Marion) Hadaway, step-father, Hugh Hadaway and many other family members and friends.
Myra was born in Alabama but quickly crossed the state line to Georgia for most of her adolescence and lived in several southern states after marrying James. They were blessed with one daughter, Lynda Jeanne Folmar who later married Kris Cole of Henderson, TX, and one grandson, Chadwick Connor Cole of London, England.
In 1972 the Folmar family moved to Henderson, TX.
Except for a few years as co-owner and operator of Cole Flower Mart, most of her career was spent in a secretarial capacity. Among her favorites were working for Robert Hall and Bill Preston. At first Baptist Church she was able to combine her office skills and her love of music while singing in the choir and worshiping in her church home which made for a very pleasant work experience.
Her last 22 years in the workplace were spent with Preston Insurance Agency where her
co-workers were a second family. She made many lasting friendships with the customers she helped in the office and on the phone. Left to cherish the contagiously spirited memories that only Myra could leave behind are her sister and brother-in-law, Sue & Phil Young, brother and sister-in-law Phillip & Beverly Marion, brother & sister-in-law, Fred & Marilyn Marion and sister Barbara Hadaway Turner & the late Wayne Turner, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Leaves Nursing Home for their consciences care through her years of residence. They would also like to thank the nurses of Angel Care Hospice for the quality care given through her final battle. A celebratory memorial service will be held Thursday, 2:00p.m. at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 1-2p.m.
