Muriel Turner's Obituary
Muriel Turner, age 97, of Longview, passed away Thursday, January 8. She was born in Celeste, Texas on July 19, 1917 to Luther and Lilly Glawson Barker. Muriel grew up in Greenville, Texas and later married her high school sweetheart, Harold Turner, on January 5, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. Harold honorably served in the US Air Force from 1942-1954. During that time they lived in many locations. In 1954 they moved to Longview and opened East Texas Wholesale Florist where they remained in business until 1977. She was a 50 year member of Zonta International.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Harold, and her son, Terry. Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter Janice Shanks and her son, Tim Turner, Sr., also 6 grandchildren,
9 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
There will be cryptside services 2 pm, Monday, January 12, 2015 in the mausoleum at Rosewood Park in Longview. Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
