Mrs. Willie Tom Phillips' Obituary
Former longtime Longview resident, Mrs. Willie Tom Phillips
passed away on May 2, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas. She lived in
Longview from 1936 to 1994 and was a legal secretary in the oil
and gas industry.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Athens, Texas, on December 22, 1911, to Ed and Luella Gaines. She graduated from Athens High School and Barnes Business College, Tyler, Texas. She was active in the First United Methodist Church, Longview, for many years and was a member of the Civic Music Association, the Business and Professional Women?s Club, Zonta Club, and several other civic and cultural
organizations.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Brian Phillips.
She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Sarah Huffman and son-in-law,
William R. Huffman of Harper, Texas; granddaughter, Catherine Milligan and husband, Scott of Leesburg, GA; brother, R. W. Gaines of Roseville, California; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 10:00 AM, at Memory Park Cemetery, with Reverend Thomas Ayres officiating.
Interment will follow services under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview.
