Graveside services for Mozell Scruggs Hughes , 85, of Longview will be 2 PM Saturday at Gum Springs Cemetery with Chaplain Joe Hocking officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes died Thursday morning at her residence.
She was born September 14, 1921 in Harrison County to Sterritt and Kate Alice Cochran Scruggs. A lifelong resident of Longview, she was a homemaker, a floral designer, and a member of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her daughter, Sandra Adkisson of Longview; special nephew, Shawn Smith of Longview; great nephew, Shawn Marcus Smith and his wife, Ashli and daughter, Tuesday. Other relatives include Charlotte Shafer and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin B. Hughes in 1988.
