Milton "Hink" Cabbiness Sr.'s Obituary
Milton “Hink” Cabbiness Sr., age 80, of Longview, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He was born July 17, 1936 in Longview, Texas to Ralph and Josephine Cabbiness. Milton graduated from Longview High School in 1954 and attended Tyler Junior College where he played football. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and spent two years stationed in Germany during that time. He loved spending time with his family who was the joy of his life and also being with his close friends. Milton was also a devoted caretaker for family members in need throughout his life. “Hink” enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He retired from Texas Eastman after 35+years. Milton was a faithful member of Greggton United Methodist Church where he was very involved with the Welmaker-Joy Class, served as an usher and greeter, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and love of his life of 57 years, Bonnie Cabbiness; his daughter, Marla Cabbiness; very dear grandchildren, Staci Cabbiness, Milton Cabbiness III, and Sterling Cabbiness; daughter-in-law, Carol Cabbiness; brothers-in-law, Gaylon Snider and Fred Fitzgerald; sisters-in-law, Betty Cabbiness, Betty Melton, Patricia Slocum and her husband Chuck, Melinda Sanders and her husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in passing are his parents; his son, Milton Cabbiness Jr.; and his siblings, Ralph Cabbiness Jr., Billy Joe “Cotton” Cabbiness, Jonnie Sundby, Margie Snider, Gay Fitzgerald, and Patsy Cabbiness.
Funeral services will be at 12pm, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Greggton United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 11am. Private family interment will take place after services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greggton United Methodist Church, 1101 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604.
