Mildred Wiesner's Obituary
Mildred Inez Wiesner, of Longview, Texas, went to be with her heavenly Father on March 21, 2018. Mildred was born on September 15th, 1930 to Jake Lewis and Thelma Lewis. She graduated from Bastrop high school in 1948 and married Les Wiesner on November 14th, 1953. Les and Mildred spent 61 blessed years together. The loving couple resided in Houston until 1970. Mildred spent a brief time at home to care for her son Roy and many nieces and nephews. She worked for Brown and Root and Anheuser-Busch until moving to Longview. She worked for Sun Trust Company until retiring. Mildred spent the majority of her retirement years serving her community and Saint Matthew’s Catholic Church. Mildred was a loving mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, bingo and watching the Houston Astros.
Greeters at the gates of heaven will be her husband, Leslie R. Wiesner, her parents and siblings Verna May Wolfe, Katherine Thielepate, Jake G. Lewis Jr., Marie Wiesner, Sunny Lewis, and Pat Lewis. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Roy Wiesner and his wife Bonnie of Longview, Texas; two granddaughters, Leslie Baker of White Oak, and Lindsey Clark and husband Brian of New Orleans, Louisiana; three great grandchildren, Luke and Madison Baker of White Oak and Leslie Clark of New Orleans; and her sister Bobby Hanna and brother Mike Lewis, both of Bastrop.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10am at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Longview. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park. Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm, Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Longview, Texas in Mildred’s honor.
