Mildred Ruth Burgess McCord
Funeral services for Mildred Ruth Burgess McCord, 82, a devoted wife and mother, of Lake Cherokee will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Burial will follow at Stewart Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Henderson. Mildred went to be with her Lord and Savior after a long hard fought battle with Alzheimer's on June 2nd, 2011. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday, June 3rd, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home.
Mildred was born on December 21, 1928 in Grapevine, Texas. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who married the love of her life, Henry Allen McCord, Sr. in June 1946. She enjoyed her spiritual relationship with God, family, cooking, golfing, yard work and fishing. She was totally devoted to her family and always wanted them around her. Her sense of humor, laughter and wittiness were always present in her life. She will be missed by all who knew her. We were so blessed to have had her in our lives. Glory be to God for all of his blessings he continues to give us each day.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glen Byron Burgess Sr. and Edna Mildred Blackmon Burgess and brothers, Elwyn Cecil Burgess, Orville Melvin Burgess, Delbert Chester Burgess.
She is survived by a son, Henry Allen "Buster" McCord Jr. of Lake Cherokee, a daughter Brenda Wyche and husband Reagan of Lake Cherokee; grandchildren; Crystal Lynn Oliver of New Diana, Christopher Douglas Wyche and wife Monica of Overland Park, Kansas, Jack Allen McCord of Lake Cherokee, Jeffrey Allen Wyche and Curtis Wayne Wyche of La Porte, Texas; great grandchildren, Kiera Oliver of New Diana, Baylee Morrell and Kylee Wyche of Overland Park, Kansas, brothers, Derrell Edward Burgess and Glen Byron Burgess Jr, of Southlake, Tx, and Vinus Leon Burgess of Scurry, Tx. and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank all of the people at Beacon Hospice at Margaret' House for all of their love, kindness and support throughout the last few months of our beloved mother's life on earth.
