Mildred Nell Hughes Pricer Walker
Mildred Nell Hughes Pricer Walker, 88, who was called home by her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 26, 2006.
Mildred was born in Purdon, Tx, September 8, 1918, moved to Kilgore in 1945 then later to Longview in 1958. She was an LVN and did private duty nursing for over thirty years in and around the Longview area. She was LVN Association Division 13 Nurse of the Year in 1975 and Texas LVN Nursing Association Nurse of the Year in 1980. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Longview.
Rejoicing in her homecoming are her son, Henry Leon ?Buddy? Pricer, Longview; husband John M. Walker, Kilgore/Longview; husband Jessie Lee Pricer, Hubbard; stepson Johnny M. Walker, Kilgore; parents W.D. and Martha E. Hughes, Corsicana; brothers, Anguish McAlister Hughes, Purdon; John Will Hughes, Lorena, Tommie Hughes, Anchorage, AK; sisters, Eunice Foster, Dawson; Aileen Freeland, Hubbard; Annie May Jones, Longview; Mary Lou McPherson, Dallas; and Lora Ford, Waco.
Grieving her loss but celebrating her life, son, Mike Walker of Dallas; daughters, Joanne Pricer Edwards, of Longview; Patsy Walker Vanderpool of Houston; brother, A.L. Hughes, of Waco; and sisters Elva Gladney, of Oxnard, CA.; Jo Ann Rodgers of Baytown; and Loma Gladney, of Waco;
Daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Pricer, Longview; Judy Walker, Garland; Jeannie Walker, Kilgore; grandchildren, Dawn Zagurski, Plano; Donna Bonham, Hallsville; Jonathan Andron, Rowlette; and Ashley Walker, Garland; Johnny M. Walker, Jr., Henderson; Vicki Clayton, Kilgore; Jana Gae Lawrence, Kilgore; great-grandchildren: Katy and Sarah Zagurski, Plano; Haley Edwards, Hallsville; Alyxandra Andron, Des Moines, IA; Easton Andron and Jennifer Morin, Rowlette, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the special angels at Greater Hospice of Texas, Clairmont Nursing Home and Alpine House Assisted Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at Ten O?clock am Monday October 30, 2006 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Carter officiating. Burial will be at Danville Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sunday October 29, 2006 from 4pm until 6p.m.
