Mildred Evelyn Jones Bishop's Obituary
Mildred Evelyn Jones Bishop of Longview born September 18, 1922, passed away peacefully February 11, 2022 at 99 years old. Mildred was an accomplished artist, bookkeeper and matriarch. She was happiest when she was busy painting, working in the yard, or spending time with her family. She took pride in being a 3rd generation native Texan and a true Southerner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Ben F. Bishop, daughter Charlotte McCrary and parents Winfield Scott Jones and Lillie Dean Downs. She is survived by daughters Gayle Josephson of Longview and Kim (Roland)Harvey of Mineral Wells, grandchildren Vicki (Boone) Montgomery of Hallsville, Keri (Joe) Josephson of Houston and Melissa McConnell of Benton, LA. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Rheanna Steel, Chris (Hannah) Montgomery, Madison (Robert) Ficken, Chandler (Chandler) Owen, Evan McConnell and Sydney McConnell, and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Kai Shumate, Carter Montgomery and Chloe Montgomery. Mildred will be buried in Ashland Cemetery in Diana, TX.
