Mildred Lasyone Shelton
Mildred Elizabeth Shelton went to meet her Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2007. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, at Calvary Christian Tabernacle with Senior Pastor A D Spears and Executive Pastor Charles Chargois officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shelton was born November 16, 1921 in Campti, La to Jeff and Martha Jane Lasyone. She married Charles C. Shelton on April 1, 1938. She was a homemaker and a founding member of Calvary Christian Tabernacle.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years in 1986; her parents; and two sisters, Beatrice Stroud and Alice Stroud; and one brother, Otho Lasyone.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by two daughters, Willie Pruett and Charliene Williams and husband Ross all of Longview; two sons, Reverend Buddy Shelton and wife Patricia of Kilgore and Charles Shelton, Jr. and wife Linda of Longview; ten grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Christine Lasyone and Eula Shelton; one brother-in-law, Alvin Shelton and wife Gloria Dell; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roy Williams, Steve Iffland, Todd Poteet, Jeff Pruett, Scotty Shelton, Ryan Ravellette, Regan Ravellette and Logan Iffland.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the employees and caretakers at Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home and to Texas Home Health Hospice.
