Mildred M. Dickerson's Obituary
Memorial service for Mildred M. Dickerson, 93 of Longview, will be held in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Friday, February 12 beginning at 10am, with Brother Rick Webb and Brother Monty Pierce officiating. Mildred went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Mildred was born in Wilbarger Co. on September 11, 1922 to loving parents Walter and Hazel Matheny. She found the love of her life in L.V. Dickerson and they were married on November 20, 1940. Mildred loved all whom she met; and never met a stranger. Upon her move into Buckner Westminster Place, she became highly involved with the bingo, and the Bible study that took place at Buckner.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, L.V. Dickerson; her parents, Walter and Hazel; and her brother, Herman Leon Matheny. Those left to cherish their memories of Mildred include her daughter, Brenda Campbell and her husband Rick; her grandchildren, David Anders and his wife Donna, Michael Anders and his wife Lauren, and Elizabeth Broumley and her husband Jake; and her great-grandchildren Chandler, Ashely, Mallory, Beau, Rylie, and Judson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buckner Westminster Place or the American Cancer Society in Mildred’s name.
The family would like to give special thanks to the employees of Careteam Hospice for the care that they provided Mildred over the past number of months; and to staff of Buckner Westminster Place for the loving care that they were able to help provide of the past 2 years.
