Mickey Copeland's Obituary
Funeral services for Mickey Copeland, age 66 of Longview, will be held Monday January 19, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Chris Cavaliere, and Duane Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Strong Cemetery.
Mr. Copeland died Thursday January 15, 2009 in a Longview Hospital.
Mickey Copeland was born June 9, 1942 in Henderson. He was raised in Joinerville, and graduated from Gaston High School in 1961, and was an amazing athlete. Throughout his life Mickey never met a stranger. He had huge heart, and touched the life of everyone he met. Mickey cherished his time with his family, and was a loving dad and granddad. We will miss him dearly. Mickey was a retired welder and member of the Turnertown Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. & Edna Copeland, sisters Wanda Avis Anderson, and Billie Jean Copeland.
He is survived by his spouse Eulalie of Longview, Son Kenneth Copeland & wife Donna of New London, daughters Natalie McFarland & husband Bubba of New London, Mechelle Brian & husband Terry of New London, Layna Wilson & husband Lance of Liberty City; son Terry Stevens of Atlanta Ga. Brothers Gus Copeland & wife Marilyn of Carthage, and Douglas Copeland of Kilgore. Sisters, Mary Edwards & husband Bob of Garland, Reba Ballentine & husband Jim of Maryland. Grandchildren Brent Copeland, Danielle Brian, Emily Copeland, Brady Brian, Hannah Wilson, Kegan McFarland, Haley Copeland, Leah Wilson, and David McFarland. Great Grandchldren Madison & Kyle McFarland.
Pallbearers will be Duane Gibbs, Keith Copeland, Roy Davis, Donnie Graham, Charlie Pool, and Mike Copeland
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 3pm – 5pm Sunday.
