Michael Wayne Stark's Obituary
Services for Michael Wayne Stark will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 23, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church in Longview with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be at Center Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. A family visitation will be held at Radar Funeral Home Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Michael Wayne Stark, loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many went home to meet the Lord January 20, 2009. He was born to J. E. "Butch" and Shirley Stark on February 3, 1957, in Kilgore, Texas. Michael graduated from Longview High School in 1976. He worked for General Dynamics of Fort Worth, and Lone Star Steel before beginning his career as a licensed home builder in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Stark of Harleton, and his three sons, Jodie Stark and wife, Charity, of Diana; Eric Stark of Tatum; Greg Stark and wife, Brandi, of Tyler; mother and father, Shirley and Butch Stark of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Billy Wilson of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kathy Stark of Harleton; brother, Mark Stark of Hallsville; his granddaughter, Audrey Gail Stark of Diana; and his grandson, Harrison Michael Stark of Diana.
Other survivors include Pauline Newman of Harleton; David Newman and wife, Nancy, of Harleton; Jimmy Newman of Harleton; Joy Hughes and husband, David of Harleton; Clyde and wife, Janette Callens of Robeline, LA; Elisabeth Ryals and husband Will of Natchitoches, LA; Joshua Strahan of Marthaville, LA; and Lillian Ryals, of Natchitoches, LA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Judy Stark, and brother, Jeff Stark.
Family and friends closest to Michael knew him to be a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Michael always had a smile and made an extra effort to treat everyone he met like family. From sharing a powdered sugar donut with grandkids to scuba diving with friends, Michael lived every minute of life to the fullest.
