Please accept my family’s heartfelt condolences on the loss of your dear loved one. May you find comfort and peace in fond memories of them, and the Almighty God’s promise in the Bible to restore those asleep in death to perfect life on a paradise Earth, and to "swallow up death forever."
It was with much heartache that I learned of Mike’s passing. I first met Mike when our Architectural firm did a project for Letourneau University and Transet was selected for the project. Bill McDowell, a mutual friend introduced us to Mike and prior to the meeting told us that Mike was “extremely liked and trusted” by everyone he worked with. Little did I know at the time how true this was. Mike looked out for everyone he came in contact with and literally daily anticipated if our construction projects would have issues and got to them well in advance of having snags, then called to get issues resolved well in advance of complications. Mike’s anticipation of potential problems helped all those involved and he likewise became “extremely liked and trusted” by everyone in our firm because of his wise demeanor and helpful attitude. Chris, I stole this poem below but it is sure true for everyone who Mike touched.
LOSS OF A FRIEND
We are all standing on the sea shore.
A Beautiful Ship at our side spreads It’s white sails to the morning breeze
and starts out into the blue sea.
This ship is an object of Beauty and Strength,
and we stand watching her till at last she fades on the horizon,
and someone at our side says…
"There She goes, now She is gone."
Gone where?
Gone from our sight, that is all!
She is just as large in her masts, hull and spars
as she was when we last saw her…
Her diminished size and total loss of sight is in us, not in her.
And precisely the moment when we heard "She is gone,"
there are others on the other side of the sea who are watching her coming
and other voices take up a glad shout
"There she comes!"
…and so that is our feeling of a loss of Mike, our Friend.
And the same feeling of joy for the Saint’s in Mike’s welcome on that far shore!
My prayers go out to my sister Gretchen Tucker and son Christopher Tucker for the loss of a wonderful husband and loving father. I am proud to have had him as a brother-in-law. I never had to worry about my sister. I always knew that he was the type of man to step up and take charge of any challenging situation that might have come up. He was determined to give her and Christopher a good life and he excelled in that area. We all loved and admired him so much. He was such a good man that it is hard to express how important he was to his family in this short message. Goodbye Mike Tucker. We will all miss you. Heaven has gained another angel indeed. -Leigh Gleaton
My prayers go out to the Tucker Family, I've worked for his wife for a few years, and I witnessed what a wonderful person he was. I am going to miss his greetings every Wednesday, no matter where in the house I was working at , he would always look for me just to greet me and ask how I was doing. May god bless the Tucker family. - Virginia Rodriguez
