Michael Neal Turner
Michael Neal Turner, 60, of Longview, beloved husband and father, passed away Friday evening, November 21, 2003.
He was born February 2, 1943 in Gilmer, Texas, to Ella Mae and Benjamen Turner. Most of his life he spent in Chicago, Illinois.
Michael was a very loving and devoted husband, hard worker, and a tremendous friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his wife, who he called ?the love of my life?, Pamela Martin Turner; four step-children, Jonathan and Robin Martin of Houston, B.R. and Pam Whitehead of Longview, Cristopher and Amy Martin of Lufkin, and Jeremy and Melissa Martin of California, and 8 grandchildren.
Michael has six brothers and sisters living; Nella Daniels, Grace Turner, and Jerry Turner of Kansas City, Kansas, Bobby Turner of Chicago, Bennie Turner of New Orleans, LA., Donald Turner of Dallas. He is also survived by five children, Laona Johnson, Roland Turner, and Mark Turner of Longview, Rolanda Turner of Dallas, Michael Turner of Chicago, and 8 additional grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl Turner and Freddie King.
Michael was a devoted and highly respected employee of the Longview Independent School District where he worked as a custodian. He took great pride in all he did and was a joy and an honor to know and work with. Prior to working for LISD, Michael worked for 32 years in healthcare.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 25, at 10 a.m. at the Rose Heights Church of God in Longview.
