Memorial services for Michael D. Moody, Jr., 37, of Longview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Longview Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverends Nathan Rogers and Tony Harp officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service on Saturday at Missionary Baptist Cemetery in on Highway 59 between Tenaha and Timpson, TX. Mike passed away in a Shreveport hospital on July 15, 2014 following a sudden illness.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Longview Missionary Baptist Church.
Mike was born October 8, 1976, in Longview and was a 1996 graduate of Longview High School. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and participated, along with other local veterans, in a local Honor Guard for special occasions and holidays. His Honor Guard will be honoring him at his Graveside Service. Mike was employed at Patterson Nissan in Longview as a salesman. He was an active member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael D. Moody, Sr. and his sister, Rebecca Wheeler.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jennifer Moody of Longview; son, Dusty Richie of Longview; mother, Mary Stevens and husband John of Diana; sisters, Lynn Bristol and husband Rick of Mt. Pleasant and Laura Bumbard of White Oak; and his grandmother, Wilma Spencer of Longview.
