Michael "Mike" Edward Fair's Obituary
Michael “Mike” Edward Fair passed away peacefully at his home on March 5, 2023. Michael was born on October 11, 1950 to Carl and Floye Fair in DeQueen, Arkansas. Michael attended Jasper high school graduating in 1970. After graduation from high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country from July 1973 to July 1977. After receiving an Honorable discharge from the US Air Force, he attended Dallas Baptist University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing on May 16, 1980. Mike married Sherryl Hopkins on May 5, 1985, and the two settled in Longview, Texas with their young son, Daniel Fair. Mike began his Nursing Career at Good Shepherd Medical Center and was employed there until he retired in 2016.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife Sherryl Fair, and his parents Carl & Floye Fair.
Mike is survived by his son, Daniel Fair and wife, Cassandra of Longview Texas, his grandchildren, Destany Fair, Zachary Fair, Shelby Fair, Patrick Williams, and Michael Gross, and his brother and sisters, Carrol Higgins of Idaho; Beverly Herrin of Jasper, Texas; Alyce Hartley of Tennessee; Norman Fair of Bridge City, Texas; and Cynthia Fair of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Fair, Zachary Fair, Norman Fair, & Patrick Williams.
The family will receive family, friends, and visitors on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Bronson Cemetery in Bronson, Texas.
