Michael Paul “Mike” Kuykendall, 42, of Longview, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2025. Born on November 15, 1982, in Longview, Texas, to Barbara Ann Cabrera who is proceded in his death, Mike lived a life marked by deep love for his family, a fearless spirit, and a generous heart. From a young age, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, fixing up bikes, and drawing—activities that not only brought him happiness but also reflected his creative and hands-on nature. As he grew older, his artistic talents blossomed into a passion for tattooing. Becoming a tattoo artist allowed Mike to share his creativity with others in a lasting and meaningful way. Mike was known by those closest to him as someone who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. He had a heart of gold and an unwavering compassion for others. His love for his family was boundless—he cherished his mother Barbara Ann Cabrera deeply and missed her profoundly after her passing. His bond with his older brother Danny Paul Kuykendall was strong and enduring. Mike was also fiercely protective of his girl cousins growing up, always looking out for them with the bravery and loyalty that defined him.
He is survived by his beloved children, son Zachary Duke and daughter Zayne Elizabeth Rose Duke; his brother Danny Paul Kuykendall; nieces Hazel and Abbygail Kuykendall; aunts Katherine Ann Owens, Wanda Owens, Nancy Torres, Sue Owens, Patty Owens, and Jeanie Kelley; uncles Wesley Owens and Steve Fiengo; and many cousins who will forever hold dear the memories they shared with him.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Ann Cabrera; grandmother Frances Virginia Owens; grandfather Jessie Owens; and aunts Virginia Ann Sullivan and Francis Juanita Rodriguez.
Those who knew Mike will remember the countless moments filled with laughter and love—reminiscing about childhood adventures, sharing stories late into the night, or simply enjoying each other’s company. His presence brought warmth to every room he entered. He was brave in every sense of the word—never afraid of anything or anyone—and always stood tall for those he cared about.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home, located at 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, Texas 75605. A funeral service will follow on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Mike’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The special memories shared with him—his laughter, kindness, strength, and love—will never fade. “If only we could have you back for just a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much to us and always will do too. The fact that you're no longer here will always cause us pain, But you're forever in our hearts. Until we meet again—fly high ‘Mike.’”
