Patricia and Karol,
I was so saddened to see Merle's obit in the paper - she was always so special to me. We worked together at the old First National Bank in Longview and at Allied Citizens in Kilgore. Merle was a beautiful, sweet, classy lady and loved you girls more than anything. She is now a precious Angel and with Bobby and the rest of her family.

My twin and I thought the world of Merle... They are already cutting up in heaven ! Once
they had just been out riding around and came to a red light hit the break real fast and the car went thru a big plate glass window. It was at auto supply store on the corner by the bridge at high street and cotton ! They were so shocked and said what if it comes out in the Longview paper and I said better than Jail !!! It sure did !!!
I worked on the 5th floor of First National Bank and would meet for breaks. They continued a long friendship! Very sweet career Lady. My heart is with you all. Understand her long term disease its very hard to watch going thru dimentia etc with my husband its so sad to be in it as a family. Love and prayers for all of you. Totally healed in heaven!!!
Nowhere can you find a more gentle lady than Aunt Merle. Seeing her many times over the years, one memory of our visits always stands out. Aunt Merle ALWAYS spoke and asked about your well-being and interests and not hers. She was genuinely interested in others. You had to pry out of her how things were going in her life. We all could take a lesson on human relations from her.
