Rev. Melvin Rowland's Obituary
Rev. Melvin Rowland 85 of Longview passed away June 9, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Burial Services will be 10am Monday, June 13, 2016 at Elmira Chapel Cemetery in Longview followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Winterfield United Methodist Church starting at 11am.
Melvin graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1949, and Bethel College, McKenzie, Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He entered the ministry and graduated from Memphis Theological Seminary. He served Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Missouri. He served several United Methodist Churches in East Texas.
Survivors include his wife Doris, daughters DeAnn Haynes, (Jack), Linda Bischoff, (Parry), six grandchildren, twenty two great grand children, five great, great grandchildren. He also has several step grandchildren.
