Although Buddy, as many of his friends called him, battled with emphysema and diabetes for many years, he never let those things stop him from living. He loved to make wood crafts and his biggest pleasure came from giving them away to those he loved and counted as friends. And a close second was fishing for trout in the Spring River at Hardy Arkansas. If there was anything that would put a sparkle in his eye and a smile on his face, just say ?trout?. He not only loved to fish for them, he loved to eat them!
Buddy was born on June 28, 1930 in Dallas, and grew up on a dairy farm. He met his future sweetheart and wife, Darlene Harris at Webber?s Root Beer Stand on Forest Avenue. Buddy became a machinist by trade. Buddy and Darlene with their four children transferred to Pine Tree area of Longview in 1966. He was employed by Trinity Industries and then Schlitz Brewery.
One of Buddy?s favorite pastimes is being with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, and longtime mate of 54 + years., Darlene Moore, and his sons, Roy ?Butch? Moore of Puerto Rico, Allen Moore of Chino Hills, CA., Mel Moore of Longview; and a daughter, Lela Quinn of Crandall; his beloved grandchildren, Michelle Wylie of Longview, Misty Moore of Panama City, FL., Angie Perkins of Longview, April Carpenter of Dallas, Jason Moore of Orlando, FL, Rebecca and Winter Quinn of Crandall, and Lauren Moore of Longview, great grandchildren, James Fillmore, Mikey Fillmore, and Joey Campbell of Longview, Dylan Moore of Hallsville, and a host of many other friends and family members.
