Melbalee Christine Owens Prim's Obituary
Melbalee Christine Owens Prim, 94, of Henderson met her heavenly Father and her loving family on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 10, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Blake officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Park Cemetery in Houston.
Christine was born in the Scatterbranch Community near Commerce, Texas on June 29, 1915 to Grady and Myrtie Ownes. She was married to her childhood sweetheart Robert Arthur Prim Jr. for 67 wonderful years, devoting her life to her family, neighbors, and church. As a life long Methodist, she was a member of W.S.C.S., and a Sunday school teacher before moving to Henderson and joining Westminster Bible Church. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading. Her sweet smile and care for others will be missed by her friends in Houston and Henderson.
Christine is survived by children: Marilyn Virden & husband Wesley of Henderson, Martha Simon & husband Leslie of Harrisburg PA.; sister Naomi Whittle, brother Jerry Owens & wife Joy of Huntsville. She was blessed to have five grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Leah & Dario Brumen and Noah Simon of Houston, Robert & Tena Virden, Thomas & Jonathan of Anna, Rita & Mike Tallant, Morgan, Garrett & Michael of Lipan, Ryan & Stacie Virden of Waco. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will follow the service Monday afternoon in the Rader Chapel
