Maynard Lamar Stewart's Obituary
Maynard Mel L. Stewart
John 3:16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life."
On Monday morning, December 24, 2007, Mel went to celebrate Jesus' Birthday with his family and friends who had gone to heaven before him. For his friends and family left behind, we will celebrate his life and memories at his services on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Oakland Heights Baptist Church. While my loved ones are shedding tears of sorrow just remember I am rejoicing in heaven singing which everyone knows I enjoyed. Mel was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church and avid member of the choir. The music and fellowship were a great joy to him. One of his proud accomplishments was serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He was in the food service industry which led to country club management for a period of 13 years. Leaving that occupation, to become the state secretary for the Texas Lone Star Chapter. At the time of his death, Mel had his own business, MSSB.
He was born July 24, 1932, in Arlie, TX. He is survived by a wife Ann Stewart. A brother Lawrence Stewart and wife Billie of Coppell, TX. Children Meladee Matthews of Grand Rapids, MI. Debi Mims of Longview, TX. David Gideon and wife Brenda of Hobbs, NM. Grandchildren Journey Hawkins, Joey and Michael Gideon, Courtney Wilson, Chase and Scott Martin. There are many other nieces and nephews and family members that were a large part of his life.
