Max W. Jackson's Obituary
Max W. Jackson, 78, passed away on December 20, 2005 after a
courageous battle with cancer. The celebration of his life will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 12 Noon with Reverend David Lindwall officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
Max was born on August 1, 1927 in Menard, Texas to Herbert and Annie Jackson.
He graduated from Menard High School in 1944. He served his country in the US Navy from October 20, 1945 to September 27, 1949. Mr. Jackson graduated from Sul Ross University in 1953 with a BS degree in Geology.
He was a geologist with Sun Oil Company from 1953 to 1986. He has been a resident of Longview since 1970. He married Rayleene Rae Clement Brazil on November 3, 1956 in Dallas, Texas.
Max was a caring and compassionate person. He loved golf, gardening and dancing with his wife. Max was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a good friend to many. He was preceded in death by both his parents; one sister, Norma Jacoby and two brothers: Hayden Jackson and Gary Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rae Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Suzanne Brazil of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Roy Williams of Longview; grandchildren Emily Jones and husband, Lucas and Stefanie Brazil, all from Colorado, and Jennifer and Zach Williams of Longview; brother, Bill Jackson of Menard, TX; sister, Theo Cude of Ft. Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
