Max Bunt's Obituary
Max Bunt, 76, died February 28, 2015. He was born July 3, 1938 to Carl and Lois Bunt in Gilmer, TX. Max served in the Navy for ten years. He spent most of that time at sea on many different carriers. Most of his duty was served aboard the USS Kitty-Hawk. He was in the sign business with Globe Signs of Longview, Texas. Max was a master builder and erecter of signs. The business was started by Max’s father Carl Bunt and operated by brother in law Larry Wright. During his retirement, Max enjoyed crafting custom knives and working as a gunsmith.
He is survived by his wife Anna Bunt; sons Bryan Bunt, mark Bunt and Michael Bunt, all of California; sisters Virginia Henley, Sue Wright, Deborah Johnston and her husband Rick all of Longview; three step-daughters Kay Odom, Vivian Green and Marla Criss all of Texas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren of California and Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends that he has made in this life’s journey.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Lois Bunt; son Kenneth Bunt; and step daughter Ann Bates.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2015.
Max was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint’s.
