Maverick Mason Cayce's Obituary
Our beloved Maverick Mason Cayce was born on April 30, 1991 in Longview, Texas. Maverick was taken from us in a plane crash on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 en route to Casper, Wyoming. Our hearts are forever broken.
We want to thank everyone for your prayers and support during this horrific time. Maverick lived more life and adventure, and did and saw more in his 21 years than most of us could, or would, in one lifetime. We don't have a single memory of him without that big, infectious grin on his face, just like his big brother Casey always had and still has! His big brother Clay taught him how to fix anything and work hard, and when he let his hair grow out, he could pass as his little sister Lindsay almostwho also served as his duet partner in the spontaneous jam sessions that often happened at the Cayce household. He had a way of bringing laughter and smiles wherever he was and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Mav did whatever he set his mind to, whether it was teaching himself to play the guitar or mastering snow or wake boarding. His resourcefulness he learned from his mother, and his laidback nature from his dad. He was adored by his cousins and was a hero in many of their eyes. What wonderful memories you have left for us all, Maverick. We love you and we will miss you our sweet boy. We cannot even imagine the adventures you are having now, but know that we will see you again.
Maverick is survived by his father and mother, Robin and Dickie Cayce. Brother Clay Crawford, his wife Angela, and their three girls Lauren, Avery, and Ashtyn. Brother John David Charlton and his wife Christin, and their daughter Lana. Brother Casey Crawford, his wife Allie, and their son Eli. His beloved sister Lindsay Cayce. Grandparents Dick and Patricia Cayce, Rod and Janice Gresham. Aunts and Uncles Cynthia and Randy Brackett, Gerald and Mary Jo Cayce, John and Leslie Cayce, Charissa and Julian Redfern, Wendy and James Leonard, Missy and Keith Delong. Cousins Kelsey Grubbs, Trent, Shelby, and Rowdy Cayce, Josh, Cory, Aaron, and Levi Leonard, Haley Delong, Jason Monroe, Aaron Reimer, Michelle Gardner, and Laura Brackett.
Maverick left a long list of friends who have been forever changed by his passion for life. His legacy will live on in the lives he has touched.
