Maurine S. Simpson's Obituary
Graveside services for Maurine Sparks Simpson, 85, of Henderson, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at County Line Cemetery with Rev Ricky Ricks officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Simpson passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Henderson Memorial Hospital.
Maurine was born February 10, 1922, in Panola County, Texas, to Julian R. and Lena Amos Sparks, and graduated from Carthage High School in 1940. She had lived in Henderson since 1957. She was a life-long member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church and attended First United Methodist church of Henderson with her family. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars in previous years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira R. Simpson.
Maurine is survived by her daughter, Linda Fullen and husband, John W. "Buzz" Fullen, and grandson Kevin Fullen all of Henderson; brother, Rev. Gilbert Sparks and wife Lois of Porter, Texas; Sister-in-law Martha Sparks of Timpson, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the County Line Missionary Baptist Church, 12138 FM 1971 S, Timpson, TX 75975, or First United Methodist Church , 204 North Marshall, Henderson, TX 75652 or charity of choice.
