Hello, My name is Rebecca. My mom (Nancy Johnson) has been friends with mattie bell since their childhood days. I talk to my mom often, and yesterday she mentioned she has tried calling mattie bell for about 3-4 weeks and the phone was disconnected. I told her I would do research and found mattie bell's obituary. The first thing my mom said was, "Well, I know mattie bell is in heaven now." Indeed she is. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of tragic loss. Mattie Belle was a generous, loving, and giving lady. I will always remember her for the countless hours of researching and compiling of the Speaks-Burgen genealogy. It will always be a wonderful resource for our family. She also felt the importance of the family reunions and although I only attended one or two, I will have those memories. My mother, Loretta Burgen Brown, loved Mattie Belle very much and it is a comfort to know they are together today and having a wonderful time!
