We are sorry we couldn't go with you to the cemetery and give you our condolences in person. Alicia felt it necessary to get back so Juliette wouldn't be alone too long. The service was beautiful. We enjoyed the video as it showed us how very much Matthew was like Paul. It is obvious that the world has lost 2 very loving, exceptionally accomplished people that will be missed by many. Matt and I were co-editors together on The Flare in 1998 and worked together at LNJ. He was always a joy to be around--always helpful, always smiling. Matt would do anything that needed to be done, and I could always count on his work to be high quality. It is no surprise that he was so successful in his chosen career. Matt was the first person who talked to and befriended me in college. He was co-editor of The Flare, and I was the cartoonist/photographer and I would hang out in the newspaper lab in the mornings. Matt was usually up there. I can be pretty shy, but he still chatted with me, and helped me get involved. I can definitely say I wouldn't be where I am without him.
