Services for Mary Jane Woods, 83, of Longview will be held privately at a family residence on Monday, May 30 at 5 PM. Mary Jane went to be with the Lord in the early morning of Saturday, May 28, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Mary Jane was born in Carthage on December 18, 1932 to parents Robert and Georgia Tompkins. Following high school, Mary Jane married the love of her life, Frank Woods and they settled down to start a family. Mary Jane had a passion for reading, and found treasure in sharing those stories with her daughter and grandchildren. She also had a special place in her heart for her daschunds. All the hobbies that she enjoyed were paled by her enjoyment that she shared when she was able to get together with her grandchildren.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 24 years, Frank Woods, and her daughter Charlotte Sorensen. Those left to cherish their memories of Mary Jane include her granddaughters, Melissa Sorensen, Rachael Read and her husband Ricky, and Hannah Sorensen.
