Mary C. Wood's Obituary
Mary Wood, also known as “Chris” to those close to her, was born June 4, 1931 in Ft. Worth, TX and passed away September 21, 2020 in Longview, TX.
She was raised in the Houston/Klein area where she trusted in Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. Her faith was very important to her. She is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Gladewater.
Living to cherish her memories are her sister, Melba Hodge of Linden, TX and son-in-law, Jay Shepherd of Longview, TX; grandchildren, Sarah Shepherd Olson of Granbury, TX and Jamin Charles Shepherd of Iowa City, IW; and two great-grandchildren, Aspen Ann Olson and Drake Jeffrey Olson of Granbury, TX plus a host of other family members and close friends.
Those of her immediate family who have passed before her are her husband, Charles Wood and daughter, Vivian Wood Shepherd.
The family wishes to thank their extended family and friends for their love and support through the years but especially at this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gladewater.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Bear Creek Cemetery in Linden, TX. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
