Mary Still Clements
Mary Still Clements, East Texas rancher, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed
away Friday after a long and productive life. She was born July 31, 1920 in Kilgore, Texas to Rudd and Mary
Still and was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Louise Pearce, Ruth Burton and Naomi McDonald,
husband, V. A. "Bill" Clements, Jr. and beloved daughter, Dr. Mary Lou Clements-Mann. She is survived by
her two daughters, Ann Rhew and husband Frank of Floresville and their children Rudd Rhew and wife Judy
and son James and daughter Rebecca Rhew; and by her daughter Paula Conley and husband Chris of Ft. Worth
and their daughter Katy Randall and husband Allen and daughter Andi.
Mary Clements was active in agriculture organizations including the Oil Belt Farm and Ranch Club, Texas
A&M Research Center of Overton, Build East Texas and the USDA FSA Committee of Harrison County. She
received several awards including the Bill Clements Memorial Award for Build East Texas and the outstanding
Leadership Award in Agriculture. She was also an active member of the Classically Fit Exercise Class and was
a member of LaGrone Chapel United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Ten O'clock AM at the family cemetery on the
ranch 6703 FM 2208 South. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice, to Good Shepherd's Institute
for Healthy Living or to the Oil Belt Farm and Ranch Club Scholarship Fund.
