Mary Lou Smith's Obituary
Mary Louise Barnwell Smith passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Longview, Texas. She was born on November 7, 1932, in Aransas Pass, Texas to John Marvin and Grace Maynard Barnwell. She graduated from Hawkins High School in 1949 and Baylor University in 1953. She married her husband of 60 years, John Mac Smith, on August 29, 1953. Mary Lou was a member of the Junior League of Longview and worked for the Longview ISD for 25 years. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son Bruce Smith of Longview; her daughter Karen Schwalb and husband David of Dallas; grandchildren Stephen Schwalb and wife Lauren of Dallas; Andrew Schwalb of Los Angeles, California; Emily Smith of Dallas; and Sarah Smith of Tyler. Mary Lou is also survived by her brother Mike Barnwell and his wife Judy of Bacliff, Texas. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 4pm-6pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
A private burial will be held at Rosewood Park Mausoleum.
