Mary Margaret Rand's Obituary
Celebration of Life services for Mary Margaret Rand, 88, of Linden will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in the Salvation Army Chapel with Major John Queener officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rand was born September 24, 1930 in Natchez, MS to Walter and Lydia Dukes. She was retired from retail and was a professional seamstress/tailor. She was a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Home League and volunteered for the Salvation Army Angel Tree annually. Mrs. Rand participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Flournoy; second husband, Leslie Rand, Sr.; foster son, Larry Griffith; and grandchildren, Audra Eades, Windy Pettiette, Larry Simpson and Becky Rodgers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Flournoy and husband Willie Simpson of Linden and Sheila Hutzman and Sandra Shelburne both of Longview; grandchildren, Shawn Glidden, Teresa Miller, Kim Leur and Tira Brocato Shelburne; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
